Hubblecast 84: A starry snapshot for Hubble's 25th

To mark 25 years in orbit, Hubble turned its gaze toward Westerlund 2 — a young, dense star cluster about 20,000 light-years away inside the nebula Gum 29. The resulting image reveals thousands of stars at various stages of early formation, bathed in glowing gas and sculpted by the fierce radiation and stellar winds of the cluster’s most massive members.
